Acupuncture as supportive care during cancer treatment

Cancer treatment can be a demanding time, both physically and emotionally. Alongside the treatment itself, there may be symptoms and side effects that affect your daily life, such as fatigue, nausea, hot flushes, neuropathy, dry mouth, anxiety or tension.

Through my work as a clinical speech and language therapist, I have many years of experience supporting people with cancer and working together with doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals around their care. This experience has given me a good understanding of the challenges that can arise during cancer treatment.

As an acupuncturist, I have further developed my knowledge of oncology and acupuncture and have completed specialised training in oncological acupuncture. I will continue to expand my training in the coming period.

Acupuncture in my practice is offered as complementary support alongside regular cancer care. It does not replace medical treatment and is not intended to treat or cure cancer. The focus is on you and on how you are feeling during this period. Together, we look at which symptoms or concerns you would like support with and whether acupuncture may be appropriate.

Every treatment is carefully tailored to your situation, taking into account your medical treatment and overall wellbeing.

About my oncology training

My training towards inclusion in the Dutch Verwijsgids Kanker, a national referral guide for cancer care, is not yet complete. I will clearly state my registration here once I meet the applicable quality requirements.
